Discover Gavi

Why visit Gavi

Gavi is a small forest settlement about 1,000 m up in the Western Ghats, run as a community eco-tourism project by the Kerala Forest Development Corporation. Visits are by permit, with a limited number of vehicles each day, which keeps the forest quiet. Expect misty cardamom plantations, a calm lake for boating, guided treks and real chances of spotting elephants, gaur and Nilgiri tahr.
